And now I realized that for at least some people, common ground will never be possible because they don't object to specific ideas that can be reframed or adjusted. They object to Satan, whose bidding we are doing. They may not hate us - they may believe they love us - but they hate him, and they won't negotiate with him either. When people are working together to solve problems it is possible to be reasonable with each other. However, when people are working against each other it becomes very difficult to have rational conversations that have a chance of making progress. When two groups of people are working against each other there is no compromise because the other side will never agree to anything that doesn't align with their own ideas. When you think of the world today, it seems that liberals and conservatives are always attacking one another rather than working together to find solutions to problems. The idea of common ground does not seem to be an option because if one side accepts the ideas of the other side they are seen as living in Satan’s world.
